AC Maintenance & Tune-Ups in Naples, FL

Air Conditioner Tune-Ups for Marco Island, Bonita Springs & Collier County

In most of the country an air conditioner gets a break for half the year. In Collier County it does not. From the first warm week in April until the last one in November, your system runs nearly every day, and that kind of workload is exactly why annual maintenance pays for itself here. Paul Stein Plumbing, family-owned in Marco Island since 1961, now offers licensed AC maintenance alongside the plumbing maintenance we have provided for decades, with the same same-day scheduling and straightforward pricing.

Why Maintenance Matters More in Southwest Florida

Three things wear an air conditioner down faster here than almost anywhere else:

  • Run time. Nine to ten months of daily cooling means a five-year-old Naples system has the hours of a ten-year-old system in Ohio.
  • Salt air. If you are on Marco Island, Isles of Capri, Goodland, or anywhere near the Gulf, salt settles on the outdoor coil and eats through fins, screws, and electrical terminals.
  • Humidity. Your system removes several gallons of water a day. That water grows algae in the condensate line, and a clogged line is the number one cause of the "my AC just stopped" call we get in July.

A yearly tune-up catches all three before they turn into a breakdown on a 95-degree afternoon.

What Our AC Tune-Up Includes

  • Clean the outdoor condenser coil and straighten damaged fins
  • Inspect the indoor evaporator coil for dirt, corrosion, and biological growth
  • Flush and treat the condensate drain line, and test the float switch
  • Check refrigerant pressures and temperatures for correct charge
  • Test the capacitor, contactor, and other electrical components under load
  • Tighten electrical connections and check for corrosion at the disconnect
  • Measure amp draw on the compressor and both fan motors
  • Check blower wheel and motor, and clean as needed
  • Inspect ductwork at the air handler for leaks and disconnected runs
  • Replace or check the filter and confirm the correct size
  • Verify thermostat operation and calibration
  • Test heating mode on heat pumps so it is ready for winter

You get a plain-language summary of what we found, what is fine, and anything worth watching. If we recommend a repair, we tell you the price and let you decide.

When to Schedule

Spring, before the heavy cooling season, is the ideal time for a tune-up. That said, in Southwest Florida any time is better than never, and we are happy to fit a maintenance visit into the fall so heat pumps are checked in both modes. If you have never had a system serviced, there is no bad time to start.

For Seasonal Residents

If you leave for the summer, the single most valuable thing you can do for your Florida home is have the air conditioner serviced before you go. A closed-up house with a struggling or failed AC develops mold and mildew quickly in our humidity. We recommend:

  • A tune-up in the weeks before you leave, including a thorough condensate drain flush
  • Setting the thermostat to a reasonable "away" temperature and, if you have one, a humidity setting
  • A check-up before your return so the system is confirmed working and the filter is fresh

We work with property managers throughout Naples and Marco Island and can schedule around their inspection visits.

Signs Your AC Is Overdue for Service

  • Weak airflow at the vents
  • The house feels humid even when it is cool
  • A musty smell when the system starts
  • Water in the drain pan or near the air handler
  • The outdoor unit is loud, rattling, or visibly dirty
  • Your electric bill is higher than last year for the same weather
  • You cannot remember the last time it was serviced

Schedule Your Tune-Up

Regular maintenance is the least expensive HVAC service you will ever buy, and it is the one that prevents most of the others. To schedule an air conditioning tune-up in Naples, Marco Island, or Bonita Springs, call (239) 376-5945 or request service online. If something is already wrong, our AC repair team is available the same day.
